When you are pursued by a guy you are not really interested with, you get irritated and pissed..
You want to say to his face, "Get Lost!"
He stays for a while and persevere..
He does some impressive things to emphasize his real intention and so-called "genuine" love.
The more he presses, the more you take him for granted, the more you stress that you don't like him.
Then he gives up..
He realizes that his love can never be reciprocated.
You  feel happy, at last, no one will mess up your day.

One day you've heard that he is courting someone else after getting over with you.
Voila! You feel something weird, you feel pain. :-(
